Brooke Pilkington joined the W&M Woman’s Tribe as an Assistant Coach in January of 2022. A Virginia Beach, VA native, Pilkington wrapped up her collegiate career at Old Dominion in 2021.
In each of her first three seasons with the Tribe, Pilkington help lead the program to CAA Championships and spots in the NCAA Tournament. W&M is 46-21 (.687) in dual-match play over the last three seasons.
During Pilkington’s tenure, the Tribe has received 16 All-CAA honors (10 singles and six doubles), including six first teamers, a CAA Rookie of the Year and three CAA Players of the Year.
In 2024, W&M won a school-record tying 14-straight matches on the way to the program’s 29th CAA Championship.
As a player at ODU, Pilkington helped the Monarchs to a 43-12 record and two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2019 and 2021. ODU earned national rankings throughout Pilkington’s career, peaking at No. 19 in 2019. The Monarchs finished the 2021 campaign at 19-5 overall and were ranked No. 30 nationally after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Pilkington capped her career by leading the Monarchs to the 2021 C-USA Championship and was selected at the ITA Atlantic Region Senior Player of the Year. In 2019, Pilkington was named the C-USA Newcomer of the Year along with being selected as ODU’s team MVP.
Pilkington excelled in the classroom during her collegiate career as well, earning CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll honors, ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, C-USA Academic Honor Roll distinction and the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal in 2021. She earned her undergraduate degree from ODU in occupational and tech studies in 2020 with a concentration in fashion. She received her master’s degree in physical education with a concentration in coaching from ODU in 2021.
Following graduation, Pilkington served as the director of racquet sports at the Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club in Portsmouth, Virginia. She also served as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater during the 2021 fall season.
Prior to her time at Old Dominion, Pilkington spent two seasons at fellow Colonial Athletic Association program Delaware. She was the CAA Rookie of the Year in 2017 and a first team all-league pick during each of her two seasons. Over her two seasons, she was 30-6 at the top singles position.
Pilkington enjoyed a standout prep career in the state of Virginia at Cape Henry Collegiate. She was a three-time state player of the year and a four-time state champion.
